H-E-Double Hockey Sticks

Last night I went to  a hockey game with a few friends down in Bountiful at the Rec Center. All through high school I felt like I lived there. I was the hockey manager so I was at morning practices, home and away games as well as night practices. Everything was still the same...heavy smell, hearing familiar buzzers, crowds cheering, cold bleachers, and chilling gusts of air as players flew down the ice.

I miss hockey so much!!!

Just a Summer Girl

Today reminded me of one of my
favorite songs from the movie
Country Strong, Just a Summer Girl

..."In my mind  The sun shines all the time
'Cause I'm just a summer girl
I wear my flip flops, And when I let my hair down
That's when the party starts And who needs a boyfriend.
I've got my girlfriends. And when we get together
The summer never ends!
Tank tops and cut-off jeans, Bikinis and belly rings.
We'll make that scene when the DJ plays 'Dacing Queen'
...I'm just a summer girl.

I love taking days off!
This morning I woke up
and layed out with
two of my best girl friends. We were just
chillin' in our biks singing to music and eating
 $6.50 Costa Vida burritos.

One of my friends, Stephanie, just bought
an LED light for nails
so we had a little fun
playing with Gelish :)
My toes are summer ready now!

Letters From Home

Today I had a very good lesson in Relief Society about how to deal with the struggles of hearing from Heaven.

We are all away from home right now...what if we were all of a sudden given a letter from our heavenly home with words of encouragement, advice, and love?

Truth is we have lots of letters just sitting there waiting to be opened. We just haven't taken the time or efforts to open these precious letters. So with this in mind I have taken a bit of a plunge and created another blog. It's called Letters From Home, http://somewherefarbetween.blogspot.com/    (COMING SOON) it's a little rough so far so don't judge. haha

This blog will be based upon my spiritual findings and experiences away from home. I hope to be able to fully take advantage of all the sweet letters and notes from home that will help me to become a Celestial being in a Telestial World.

Buca di Beppo

Tonight we decided to be adventurous and drive to Salt Lake to find a random place to eat.
We happened to find this little
Italian Restaurant called Buca di Beppo.
It was kind of a cool place.

For first timers they take you on a tour
of the kitchen to meet all of their chefs
and bakers before they seat you.
The food was very authentic but good!
We shared the Quattro al Forno,
which is four different baked pastas.
With generous portions of
 Cheese Manicotti, Chicken Cannelloni,
 Ravioli al Pomodoro and
 Stuffed Shells.

To finish off the night we raced a
Mazda 3 speed, went to orange leaf and enjoyed some
peanut butter frozen yogurt with Reeses Cups
and peanut butter sauce and relaxed on
the couch til 1 in the morning watching
 The Devil Wears Prada.
 I love date night!

Hey Batter Batter Batter!!!

Tonight was so fun!
Thursday night is always girls night,
so tonight we decided
to hit up the batting cages at Swan
Lakes Golf Course.

We took turns looking like idiots
and acting like pros haha

to top off the night we enjoyed
some pretzel bites from Pretzel
Maker and drooling over
engagement rings...
maybe someday!

I love my girls!!!

The Sweetest Thing

Today the sweetest guy called me at work and asked me to come in the lobby. I went out to find two of my favorite things...a dozen roses and the sweetest, most handsome red head standing behind them. :) Thanks for making my day!

Chalk It Up!

Some of my AP Art friends from High School and I have a tradition to enter ourselves into the Bountiful Chalk Art Festival every year. Last year we did the most amazing chalk art! But this year the weather didn't really permit...so we did what we could in about an hour. haha

This is the zebra that I drew. We tried to have a colorful theme (as always), but the main idea for this was inspired by the oh so colorful zebra gum, Fruit Stripe! haha

It was a lot of fun and I can't wait until next year!

Practically Perfect in Every Way!

I just got back from the best trip ever!!! I had a six day bliss in California with my family! I am sad it's over, but glad it happened! We drove down to California in a 2012 Suburban that had the most uncomfortable seats ever! We arrived at the house we rented which was literally 5 minutes away from Disneyland. It was a beautiful house!!

We spent 3 days hopping back and forth between Disneyland and California Adventure. I had so much fun from sun up to sun down!
Fireworks on Friday were fabulous!
Saturday we spent the entire day at Newport Beach and later that night we drove to L.A. to watch a Dodgers game! It was a spectacular trip!

Toasters and Heros

Tonight Zane and I went to Costa Vida for dinner and found that it was way too crowded for us to stay and eat there, so we got our food to go and we headed up to the park above the Cemetery in Centerville. We ate, played baseball and created an inside joke about a four slotted toaster. haha

Then we found this random pole sitting in the middle of the wood chips on the playground so I picked it up and started drawing in the chips.

After that we headed to the Megaplex theater in Centerville as a surprise to see the Avengers. I bought these tickets...not knowing what I was getting myself into. I hadn't seen any of the hero movies so I was completely lost the entire movie, but on the bright side I  took a little cat nap during the movie ;)

Thanks for the fun date night Zander!

Girls Night!

Tonight was supposed to be a super awesome girls night with Jill, Lindsay, and Chezli but a few things came up. So Jill and I went Shopping in Salt Lake!

JMR: Bought myself some black sparkly TOMS...but fell in love with some gray flats with a big bow on them. Wish I knew the brand :(

Forever 21: Bought myself a turquoise and white striped cardigan that is super cute! not to mention it was the last one!!!

Then we came home and decided we had the munchies...bad! So we took an early fatty friday and went to Mickey Dee's and split 20 nuggets.

We just drove around in the rain singing at the top of our lungs just living in the moment, being crazy girls! Thanks for the fun night Jilly Bean!
